Weak example
Scenario
You wrote a one-page memo recommending whether a café should add delivery. You used an AI tool along the way.
Disclosure
Used: ChatGPT.
Produced: It helped with the memo.
Changed: I edited it.
Decided independently: Everything else.
Commentary
Each field is true and tells the reader nothing. A cross-check couldn't confirm or contradict any of it, and the last field, the one that shows judgment, is boilerplate.
Strong example
Scenario
You wrote a one-page memo recommending whether a café should add delivery. You used an AI tool along the way.
Disclosure
Used: An AI chat tool, twice: to list costs a café might face when adding delivery, and to tighten my final paragraph.
Produced: A list of nine cost categories, and a shorter version of my conclusion.
Changed: I kept five of the nine costs and dropped four that didn't apply to a single small café (fleet insurance, for example). I rejected its shorter conclusion because it dropped my condition about weekend demand.
Decided independently: The recommendation itself (a three-month trial on weekends only) and the condition that ends the trial if delivery orders stay under 15 a day.
Commentary
Specific enough to check against the memo. The independent decision is a judgment the tool didn't make, and it says what happens if the judgment is wrong.
No AI example
Scenario
You wrote a one-page memo recommending whether a café should add delivery. You used an AI tool along the way.
Disclosure
Used: None. I wrote and checked the memo myself, and I didn't accept any AI rewrite, autocomplete or summary suggestions from my word processor, email app or search engine.
Produced: Nothing.
Changed: Not applicable.
Decided independently: All of it, including the weekend-only trial and the 15-orders-a-day condition for ending it.
Commentary
"None" is a complete disclosure when it's true, and the course asks for it on AI-Prohibited work. The thing to check before writing it: AI is built into everyday tools (grammar suggestions, autocomplete, search summaries). That's the Unit 1 lesson that AI isn't only chatbots, so "none" means none of those either.
